CHURCH LANE GALLERY
Jane Griffiths, Jewellery Artist
(aka Poet & Cat)
I initially trained as a bookbinder at the London College of Printing, but began making jewellery in 2008, when I took classes with Alice Goldsack in Bristol. I work mainly in sterling silver and copper, and use semi-precious stones as well as china and sea-glass collected from beaches in Cornwall and polished in the studio. I am a member of Chipping Norton Arts as well as of the Church Lane Gallery.
My website https://poetandcat.design shows more of my jewellery as well as some of my bindings and other artefacts. The name was chosen partly because of my other life as a writer – see https://www.bloodaxebooks.com/ecs/category/jane-griffiths - and partly in homage to my now very elderly rescued British Blue, Smokey.
