We aren't giving in!

So here we are again - back in lockdown and the Gallery is closed until further notice. It's not very exciting, but we will be taking the opportunity to do some building repairs in the meantime.

But we are not going away, and many of our Artists are able to offer their work for sale on this website. If you know the Artist whose work interest you, find them in the listings lower down this page, or go straight to their Gallery page through the link at the top of this window.

We were also busy on on our Facebook and Instagram pages. If you would like to follow us there, click the links below, and you can register for our occasional newsletter by filling in the form there too.

What's in The Online Gallery?

We are showing Louise Regan's Award winning illuminations of cities and places, some local, some well known and some imaginary. Her latest paintings take a somewhat surrealist look at Banbury town.

Jane Wimbury is showing some lovely glass pieces, Christmas decorations, unique and original gifts, colourful and practical. You can also see a short video about her Christmas gift ideas and the glass workshops she offers.

Jane Griffiths offers her wonderful jewellery, more beautiful gift ideas to choose from.

Emma Wilkinson's clocks and paintings of Banbury scenes feature, as well as some of her card collection, and Janet Bird's amazing animal paintings and seascapes will delight all lovers of nature.

James Stead contributes his practical hand thrown ceramics, and the unusual felt and textiles of Karen Baum are available as original art, in print form, and as cards for Christmas and other occasions.

We have a new member, Madeleine Allcock, presenting her delicate and detailed butterfly paintings, and one of our founder members, Rosy Burke, offers some bright and cheerful rural scenes.

Last but not least, photographer Barry Barker exhibits a very strange kettle of fish, a delicate and delightful study of Venice in February, and offers a challenge for the not so faint hearted - Would you dare to bare? gentle monochrome studies of the Cumbrian countryside are photographs to contemplate.

Browse through the pages, you will find some unique and original Christmas gifts, and the opportunity to support the local art community.

Church Lane Gallery - Our story

Church Lane Gallery is the home of Banbury Artists' Co-operative. Church Lane Gallery opened in 2016 and is managed and staffed exclusively by talented local artists who show and sell their work directly to the public. Bespoke commission work is also often possible.

We also offer an ever-changing, wide range of art and gifts at a variety of prices.

Our aim is to bring beautiful, affordable local art to the heart of the Banbury community.

Artists can often be found creating new work during their stewarding shifts in the gallery and visitors are able to see the processes involved in making the art we sell.

We frequently feature artist events and rejuvenate the gallery every month so there’s always something new and inspiring to see!

Membership of the collective is by invitation, but we are always keen to consider applications from artists who can add to the gallery's offering. Click MEMBERSHIP for more information.
