The Gallery re-opens

As government restriction on non-essential shops are relaxed, we will be taking tentative steps to ease out of lockdown. Initially, The Gallery will be open 10am to 3pm on Thursday (Banbury Market day) and 10am to 4pm on Saturday.

We haven't been inactive during the last three months. I hope that you saw some of our contributions to Oxfordshire Art Weeks Virtual Art Trails. If not, you can see them again on the Gallery and Member News page - click on the link here:-

What's new in The Gallery?

Pretty well everything. The Gallery has been refurbished and rehung so there is a lot of new work to enjoy, some of which you can see to the right. Jane Wimbury is showing some lovely glass pieces, colourful and practical, Liz Dixon's Powertex creations of fantastical figures and abstract paintings are unusual and very creative, James Stead and Graham Mant contribute their very different styles of ceramics, and we are showing Louise Regan's Award winning illuminations of local and well known city scenes.

Kat Onions' whimsical and querky snails and insects, made from recycled cutlery surprise and delight, Rosy Burke offers some bright and cheerfull rural scenes and at the opposite end of the spectrum, Barry Barker's gentle monochrome studies of the Cumbrian countryside are photographs to contemplate.

There are many more artists showing work. Come down to Church Lane to see for yourself, this wealth of local talent, for jewellery, gifts, cards and things to decorate your home. We look forward to seeing you.

Thursday 10am to 3pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm

Church Lane Gallery - Our story

Church Lane Gallery is the home of Banbury Artists' Co-operative. Church Lane Gallery opened in 2016 and is managed and staffed exclusively by talented local artists who show and sell their work directly to the public. Bespoke commission work is also often possible.

We also offer an ever-changing, wide range of art and gifts at a variety of prices.

Our aim is to bring beautiful, affordable local art to the heart of the Banbury community.

Artists can often be found creating new work during their stewarding shifts in the gallery and visitors are able to see the processes involved in making the art we sell.

We frequently feature artist events and rejuvenate the gallery every month so there’s always something new and inspiring to see!

Membership of the collective is by invitation, but we are always keen to consider applications from artists who can add to the gallery's offering. Click MEMBERSHIP for more information.
