Lisa Jackson, Artist
Photo of Lisa.jpg

Lisa Jackson is a visual artist living in Banbury, Oxfordshire. She creates dynamic and engaging artwork as a way of expressing ideas, emotion and to provoke thought. She started painting during lockdown and her first project was a set of abstract place cards for a family wedding in Autumn 2020.

Over time, her work has evolved. Lisa explores paint application with diverse tools and layering until the final piece emerges.  Absorbed by colour and texture, Lisa enjoys the scope and freedom that they both offer her while taking inspiration from other artists including Gerhard Richter and Frank Bowling.

Lisa considers that the flaws found in nature and in ourselves can hold great beauty. What it is to be human, and our feelings about our experiences heavily influence Lisa’s work alongside line, form and patterns occurring naturally in the world.

Her photographic work involves creating colourful expressions of images she has captured. She also blurs the lines between photography and painting, photographing her own artwork and adding new dimensions to it. Lisa describes her way of working as an experimental process with a no rules approach, her creative sessions are voyages of discovery.
