CHURCH LANE  GALLERY
Lorna Ashworth, Artist
Lorna Ashworth_edited.jpg

Lorna is a multidisciplinary artist based in Warwickshire working across print and jewellery. Her pieces are often inspired by the natural world with plants and flowers being an increasing influence. Colour is important also in her work which has been shown at Warwickshire Open Studios, Art in the Park Leamington and Wolverhampton Print Fest.

In Lorna’s print work images are often simplified giving a contemporary but timeless feel that are often in contrast to the complexity of the carving of the Lino blocks involved.

Colour is becoming an important part of Lorna’s jewellery practice, with the use of low melt enamels giving rise to her Sunrise and Waves series of work. This is alongside her silver jewellery which uses recycled silver to create one-off pieces often incorporating the impressions of plants and an increasing use of natural stones and pearls.
